What it does

Setting hundreds of stones and prongs by hand on a sculpt eats your nights, and moving the piece to Rhino means a second program and a second workflow. The Casting Edition does the placing inside Blender. The design decisions stay yours.

DGE Auto Pavé Creator Casting Edition is a Blender add-on for pendants, ring tops, charms and grills. It places real-size diamonds, builds shared prongs to casting rules and cuts the stone seats. Then it builds one watertight metal mesh you can send to your caster.

3 or more

prongs holding every stone

The frog wears 1.0 mm stones on the hat and 0.8 mm on the face, and it passes all its checks.

A sculpted face, half as your sculpt, half set to cast after 3 clicks

Creases stay thin metal lines and every form gets its own outline row, so paved fingers still read as fingers.

Two stone sizes on one piece: 1.0 mm on the face, 0.9 mm on the hands

Main size in mm, fills down to 0.7 mm, two sizes on one piece.

Shared prongs, at least 3 per stone and 0.45 mm thick, on a cast-ready pavé field

At least 3 per stone, at least 0.45 mm thick, each gripping the stone's edge by a 0.05 mm lip.

The casting check panel: 15 checks, Ready for casting

You get “Ready for casting” or “Fix before casting”, with stones per size, total carats and metal weight in your alloy.

Sculpts in pieces are welcome

Fuse Parts turns a head, hair, eyes and hands into one closed solid.

Full feature list

Stones

  • Sizes in mm, like a real parcel. Fit suggests the size that suits the shape.

  • Smaller fill stones close the gaps, down to 0.7 mm (Auto) or in 0.05 mm steps (Fine).

  • Gap by stone size: Tight, Standard or Fixed, never under the 0.10 mm chipping floor.

  • Second Size: two stone sizes on one piece (for example hat 1.0 mm, face 0.8 mm).

  • Rows follow every outline. Discs get concentric rings, smooth outlines get evenly spaced rows, and rings and tubes get rows that run round them.

  • Every space left over gets one last try. A stone stays only if 3 prongs can hold it.

Where the stones go

  • Front Faces, with an angle to wrap round the sides.

  • Selected faces, inside a curve (drawn over or on the surface), face sets, material, sculpt mask or the whole surface.

  • Paint No Diamonds, with a preview of the exact border.

  • Keep Form Lines, Smooth Skin for sculpts, and Pavé Bed (the field sunk behind a clean wall).

Prongs

  • Shared between stones, sized by stone size, never under your cast minimum.

  • At least 3 per stone, spread round it, with end prongs where a row stops.

  • Prongs grow a little in wide pockets so they grip all three stones, while the beads stay even.

  • Every Pocket or 3 per Stone, plus prong spacing, shrink allowance and seat notches.

  • A stone that can't be held is swapped for a smaller one that can.

Seats and holes

  • Seat options: Full Seat, Undersized, Pilot Hole or Drill Mark.

  • Holes are planned one stone at a time, never deeper than twice their width.

  • Seat cutters never bite into bare metal.

Metal and checks

  • Build Metal makes one watertight mesh and keeps every separate part as its own casting part.

  • Bad geometry is repaired on a copy, so your mesh is never changed.

  • Back Cutter hollows the back.

  • Pass, fail or “not measured” for each check: gaps, borders, prong size and grip, holes, metal between seats, wall thickness.

  • Hollow or thin-shell models are caught.

  • Metal weight in gold (24K to 10K yellow, white, rose), platinum, palladium or silver.

Export

  • Metal STL, stones STL and a report (HTML and JSON) that your caster can match to the file.

  • An optional fused copy for resin printers.

Workflow

  • A five-step panel with safe defaults.

  • Fuse Parts for sculpts in pieces. Hair and eyes stay polished metal.

  • Move or delete single stones by hand, then rebuild the prongs.

  • Mirrored objects work.
